Passed away peacefully on Oct. 3, 2021. He was welcomed by his wife Carolyn, daughter Kammy and sister Jeanette and other family members and friends. He is survived by his son, Damon (Carrie) Wegener, grandchildren Nichols, Timothy, Crystal, Jerome and Marlene. Brother Leroy Wegener and Tom (Jeannie) Wegener. Further survived by nieces, nephews other relatives and friends.

In service of his country, he served in the United States Navy and has been a continued member of 40 years in the American Legion and 40 et 8. Rising from Post Commander to District Commander, State Vice Commander.  He also served as 40 et 8 Grand Avocat, National Director of Youth Sports, State Commander, Sous Chef de Chemindefer and Chef de Gare. He loved to spend time at Camp American Legion.

A visitation will be held on Friday, October 8th, at Heritage Funeral Home (16880 W. National Ave. New Berlin) from 3-6pm with a service to follow at 6pm.  Entombment will take place at Valhalla Memorial Park, Milwaukee.

In lieu of flowers, memorials to 40 et 8 – Youth Sports at Camp Flowage are appreciated.

    You will be so missed and I am so happy I got to see you at Nationale. I know Carolyn has you in her arms already.
