My deepest condolences. I just stumbled across this announcement. I traveled with David as part of the Festival of Praise Spurrlows in the early 80’s. He was such a great guy, amazingly gifted, with a kind, gentle spirit when I knew him (and a great sense of humor). Heaven has gained another great talent.

All love and blessings my friend and brother; the Tree of Life grows on both sides of the River! You are missed, mourned, and celebrated in this, the day the Lord has made.

I sit here in this sanctuary where David wore out the piano playing praise and worship and I’m comforted knowing he’s still playing now… even though he’s gone from this earth. I was proud to call him a colleague, touring band mate, Roommate, and friend. 35 years later, It still feels like we met a moment ago. Love you, miss you…. and I’ll see you again…. one day.

To the wonderful, extraordinary Kaap family and David’s brother in Christ, Kirk Boucher, As I mourn losing David as a dear friend whom I love, I can not begin to imagine how much you all miss your cherished son, brother, Uncle, friend, etc. Your David was a once in this lifetime encounter in so many ways…musician, vocalist, faithful friend ,but most of all worship leader for our Lord, touching thousands and thousands for His kingdom. All of us owe you so much for sharing your David with the rest of us…thank you so much. God bless and keep each of you until we all join David at Jesus’ feet, once again singing praises led by David, but this time the angels are joining in! Much love, Barb Troy

We were privileged to be able to listen to David’s music while volunteering at the Information Desk at at Mitchell International Airport. He was wonderfully talented, and it was a joy to hear him play, but his warmth and kind spirit were what made him special. Please accept our deepest sympathy.

I met David 4 yrs ago. He was the first person to talk with me at the River church. Made me feel welcomed & wanted. So loving & compassionate. God blessed this man and gave him an anointing. David blessed God and gave it back to him in his worship! The Spirit moved me many times during his worship. Brought me to my knees. I wish I could have gotten to really know him. However, I am so happy and blessed that I was able to have the little time I had to be apart of his foot steps here on earth. He will be greatly missed. Follow me as I follow Christ. That is how I see David Kaap! A man with the character & fruits of the living God! Love you David until we meet again!!!

Hello this is Robb Hoffman David recorded many songs for me (around 12) and was published on two CDs. I would be happy to share these songs with you. He recorded a very special song for me called “missing you” which Was about my father passing. When I listen to it now, it brings tears to my eyes – because now I know it’s about Davids passing. I’ll miss David And his beautiful music. he made quite an impression on me. He is is an amazing beautiful soul and extremely talented vocalist and pianist. I sang with David many times over the years, and it was truly a joy to blend my voice with his. It was sometimes a wild ride when I’d show up and he’d say, “I don’t have any music for you–do you know these songs (and he’d list them off)?” If I said, “No,” to any of them, he’d say, “Well, I don’t have lyrics either. You’ll pick it up after the first time through.” I’m so sad for all of us that he’s gone, but happy that he is in the presence of the Lord and Savior he served so faithfully all his life. I can’t wait to see him again one day and join him in singing praises at the foot of the eternal throne.
