Nelson

Daniel P. Nelson, 80, a beloved brother, uncle, and friend, passed away March 26, 2024. He entered this world on June 18, 1943, welcomed by Wallace and Clara (Dishaw) Nelson. Left behind are his sister, Nancy (Nelson) Seng, along with three nieces and three nephews. Preceding him in passing are his parents, sister Mary (Nelson) Johnson, and a niece.

A proud 1962 graduate of Oak Creek High School, Dan went on to serve in the US Army Reserves.  For 37 years, Allen Bradley served as a second home for Dan, participating in the company’s theater, dance, and choir groups.  Dan was an avid sports enthusiast, most proud of his time at SSBL Milwaukee finding joy as a player, umpire, and commissioner.  In retirement, Dan discovered a new passion for the art of stained glass, creating beautiful pieces that will continue to inspire for generations.

A remembrance and celebration of Dan’s life will be held with a graveside service at 1:00 pm on Friday, April 12, 2024 at Forest Hill Cemetery in Oak Creek, WI. In lieu of flowers or memorials, the family kindly requests contributions in his honor be made to the Milwaukee Metropolitan Community Church.

Dan leaves behind a legacy of love, kindness, and dedication that will forever be remembered by those who were fortunate enough to know him.
