Clemens B. Knoll, Sr., January 23, 2009, age 77 years old, after a courageous battle with illness.

Beloved husband of nearly 50 years of Catherine nee Halverson. Devoted father to Clem, Jr. all of Franklin, WI, and very special grandfather of Donovan J.C. Hickman, daughter of JoyAnne & Bruce Hickman, Slinger. Preceded in death by his parents Ed Knoll, Sr. and Stella Zaleski Knoll, and brother Eddie Knoll, Jr, all of Stratford, WI. Survived by eight brothers and sisters Annette Ernie, deceased Raschke, Susie John Burish, Ann Knoll, Arlene Wally Stencil, Pat Floyd Hamus, Benny Rhonda Knoll, Allie Diane Knoll and Jerry Knoll.

Further survived by sisters and brothers-in-law, nieces, nephews, cousins and other relatives and many, many friends. A special thank-you to niece JoyAnne and Dr. Bruce Hickman and Dr. Michael Becker for their loving care and attention.

Clem and Cathie operated a successful business for more than 50 years, and first lived in a loft in the barn he bought to use as a shop for their construction company. They had no running water, three light bulbs and an outhouse with two seats. The family still owns the place and the outhouse is there. Since then, through Clem’s hard work, the family has been very fortunate.

Clem was a builder and he built a family, a business and many friendships. He was an extremely generous and thoughtful man, giving back to the community whenever needed. He was an active member of the Lions Clubs of Stratford and Franklin, WI, rising to District A-1 Governor. He and Cathie traveled to Mexico with the Lions to distribute glasses and needed supplies. He was also a member of Marshfield Knights of Columbus.

Clem was a Korean War Veteran and member of the VFW-Stratford, WI.

Services will be held in Oak Creek and Stratford, WI
Visitation Monday, January 26th at the FUNERAL HOME, 9200 S. 27th Street Oak Creek, from 4-7PM with a Service at 7pm.

Visitation, Tuesday, January 27th at SAUTER-REMBS FUNERAL HOME Stratford, WI from 4-7PM and again Wednesday, January 28th at ST. JOSEPH’S CATHOLIC CHRUCH , Stratford, WI from 10-11AM with A Mass of Christian Burial at 11AM. Interment at St. Adalberts Cemetery, Town of McMillan, Marathon Co. HERITAGE
