Carmen Rivera Monje

1940  –  2026

Age 85, of Milwaukee, passed away on August 8, 2026.

Carmen was a loving and caring woman who devoted her life to her family. She lovingly raised her twin daughters and remained a constant source of support and guidance for her grandchildren. Over the years, Carmen also provided childcare for many children, welcoming each of them with such warmth and affection that they, too, came to lovingly call her “Abuela.”

Carmen enjoyed keeping busy and caring for her home. She especially loved tending to her flowers and continued doing so for as long as she was able. Her nurturing spirit could be seen in everything she touched—from the flowers she grew to the many children and generations of family she cared for.

Above all, Carmen loved the Lord and found great joy in attending church. Her faith was an important part of her life and remained a source of strength and comfort throughout the years.

Carmen is survived by her daughter, Norma Rivera Monje; her grandchildren; and her many great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Julio Rivera Colon; her daughter, Noemi Moralez; and her grandson, Mike Moralez Jr.

Carmen’s memory will live on through the many lives she touched and the generations of family she loved so deeply. She will be remembered as a devoted mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, great-great-grandmother, caregiver, and woman of faith. Her kindness, strength, and loving presence will be dearly missed and forever cherished.

Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, August 18, 2026, at Heritage Funeral Homes, 1901 N. Farwell Ave., Milwaukee, Wisconsin. A private family visitation will begin at 3:30 p.m. Public visitation will be held from 4:00 to 7:00 p.m., followed by a service at 7:00 p.m.

De 85 años y residente de Milwaukee, falleció el 8 de agosto de 2026.

Carmen fue una mujer amorosa y bondadosa que dedicó su vida a su familia. Crió con mucho amor a sus hijas gemelas y siempre fue una fuente constante de apoyo, consejos y amor incondicional para sus nietos. Durante muchos años, Carmen también cuidó a numerosos niños, recibiendo a cada uno con tanto cariño y ternura que ellos también aprendieron a llamarla amorosamente “Abuela”.

A Carmen le gustaba mantenerse ocupada y cuidar de su hogar. Disfrutaba especialmente atender sus flores y continuó haciéndolo mientras pudo. Su espíritu generoso y cuidador se reflejaba en todo lo que tocaba: desde las flores que cultivaba hasta los niños y las generaciones de su familia a quienes cuidó con tanto amor.

Sobre todas las cosas, Carmen amaba al Señor y encontraba una gran alegría al asistir a la iglesia. Su fe fue una parte muy importante de su vida y una fuente de fortaleza y consuelo a través de los años.

Carmen deja para honrar su memoria a su hija, Norma Rivera Monje; sus nietos; y sus numerosos bisnietos y tataranietos. Fue precedida en la muerte por su amado esposo, Julio Rivera Colon; su hija, Noemi Moralez; y su nieto, Mike Moralez Jr.

El recuerdo de Carmen vivirá en las muchas vidas que tocó y en las generaciones de familiares a quienes amó profundamente. Será recordada como una madre, abuela, bisabuela, tatarabuela y cuidadora dedicada, y como una mujer de gran fe. Extrañaremos profundamente su bondad, su fortaleza y su presencia amorosa, pero siempre las llevaremos en nuestros corazones.

Los servicios funerarios se llevarán a cabo el martes 18 de agosto de 2026 en Heritage Funeral Homes, ubicado en 1901 N. Farwell Ave., Milwaukee, Wisconsin. La visita privada para la familia comenzará a las 3:30 p.m. La visita pública será de 4:00 a 7:00 p.m., seguida por el servicio a las 7:00 p.m.
