Carl R. Elczuk

Carl R. Elczuk, 91, Muskego, Wisconsin, passed away Friday, November 7, 2008, as a result of pneumonia.
Carl was born on March 3, 1917, in Crystal Falls, son of Mary nee Rachwal and Stanley Elczuk. He grew up in the Buck Lake and Alpha area and graduated from Porter High School in Alpha. Following high school, Carl was employed by Miller Brewing Company in Milwaukee for more than 40 years. He married Eleanor Elczuk on October 23, 1941 in Kenosha, WI and then resided in Milwaukee, where he raised three daughters.
He and Eleanor returned to the UP upon retirement and resided in Alpha for 26 years. During this time he served as Captain of the Mastodon Township Fire Department and also served on the Alpha Village Board. Carl was a true Yooper, who loved to hunt and fish.
In 2001, Carl and Ellie moved to Muskego, WI and resided at the Regency Senior Housing complex.
He is survived by his three daughters, Darlene Dave Miller, Cindy Elczuk, and Deanna John Gnas; sister Ange Broaddus, brother Chester Elczuk, sister-in-law Gwen Harling; brother-in-law Donald Gloria Fredrickson; seven grandchildren and five great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his wife of 66 years Eleanor, brothers-in-law Myron Fredrickson, William Harling and Edward Broaddus and sister-in-law Marie Elczuk.

Internment will be at Evergreen Memorial Cemetery, Crystal Falls, MI.
