Brent Richard Thornton passed away unexpectedly in the early hours of August 18, 2015 at his home in New Berlin, WI where he lived with fiancée, Gina Renner.
Brent was born on March 22, 1971 in La Jolla, California. He spent most of his life living in North San Diego County, including growing up in San Marcos where he graduated from San Marcos High School in 1989. After graduation, he went on to attend Palomar College. In 1994 Brent married Stephanie Crandell. They resided in Vista, CA where they lived for 10 years before relocating to Waukesha, Wisconsin. During this time, they had two children of the marriage, Brittany Rose and Bryce William. Brittany recently graduated from Waukesha South High School and his son Bryce currently attends Waukesha North High School.

Brent began his career working for Pepsi Co of San Diego. For the last 16 years, he was employed by Retractable Technologies, Inc. where we held the role of Regional Sales Manager. He was an incredible athlete, excelling in soccer, tennis, surfing, golf, bowling and snow skiing. For the last 20 years, he enjoyed the brotherhood of the Old Mission Bay Athletic Club (OMBAC) and playing Over the Line, winning the National Title in 2003. Brent was also a certified USA Swim Official for the better part of 5 years while both of his children swam for the Waukesha Express Swim Club. Lastly, he bowled in the Saturday Night Unplugged bowling league for the last 12 years.

He leaves behind his daughter Brittany Thornton Gordon and her husband Jack, of Waukesha WI, currently stationed in Kailua Hawaii, his son Bryce William Thornton of Waukesha, WI, his fiancée Gina Renner and her daughter Brianna of New Berlin, WI, his father George R. Thornton, Jr of Santee, CA; his mother Jessica Lynn of Aguanga, CA his sister Allison Thornton Rameriz & her family of San Marcos, CA, and half-sister Jodi Thornton of Medford, OR. In addition he leaves behind Uncle’s, Aunt’s and Cousins located throughout North San Diego County. He was pre-deceased by his grandparent’s William A. and Aileen D. Millett formerly of Del Mar, CA and George & Betty Thornton of Encinitas, CA.
To honor Brent’s memory, a celebration of his life will be held from 3pm to 6pm on September 9th at Fox Brook Park Lodge, Brookfield, Wisconsin.
