We all will miss Betty. She loved going on our bus trips with her dear friend Lotte. The 2 girls usually won and kept that to themselves. Betty was a great woman and a huge part of the Oak Creek American Legion. We hope there will be a memorial service in later months to show our gratitude and respect for this wonderful woman and member—Past Commander Ozzie

    Aunt Betty (My other MOM)
I am grateful to have had you in my life for you have touched my heart in so many ways. Thank you for always being there for me, a shoulder to cry on, arms to hold me, a loving touch and a joyful laugh. I thought of you today:

I thought I saw her face today
In the sparkle of the morning sun.
And then I heard the angel say,
“Her work on earth is done.”

I thought I heard her voice today
    Then laugh her hearty laugh.
And then I heard the angel say,
“There’s peace, little one, at last.”

I thought I felt her touch today
In the breeze that rustled by.
And then I heard the angel say,
    “The spirit never dies.”

I thought that she had left me
For the stars so far above.
And then I heard the angel say,
“She left you with her love.”

I thought that I would miss her
    And never find my way.
And then I heard the angel say,
    “She’s with you every day.”

You will forever live in my heart.
    Love, Nancy

    John 11:25-26
“I am the resurrection and the life. The one who believes in me will live, even though they die; and whoever lives by believing in me will never die.”

I worked with “Grandma Betty” at Aurora Pharmacy in Oak Creek. She was always looking out for all the others on her team. Later even after I stopped working with Betty we would go to Garry Wesley “Elvis” shows and have a fun time on the 4th of July at the Legion in Oak Creek. She loved her musical china cat she found at the rummage sale for Second Hand Purrs we went to at the Legion. She loved taking a ride in my dad’s old Model T Ford. We had many special times together. I’ll miss her dearly. She always gave so much to others and was so fun to hang around with. She had the most loving heart.

Betty was a very sweet soul. My heart goes out to all that are grieving during this difficult time. Betty used to work with my mom and grew to be friends of all of us. She sold me my first car (her blue Oldsmobile 88) and I’ll never forget her encouraging me to “step on it” during the test drive (I had just gotten my drivers license and had never done that before!) She was a ball of fun and always kind. Over the years her and my mom would attend concerts and 4th of July celebrations. Here’s a great picture of her with my grandfathers Model T and a genuine smile at a Garry Wesley concert that she and my mom loved. xoxo
