Barbara V. Berndsen

Passed away on September 12, 2025; she was 90 years old. Beloved wife of James Sr. for 71 years. Loving mother of Gail (the late Bob) Villwock, James Jr. (Lynda), and the late Gary. Proud grandmother of Luke, Natalie, James, Gary, Ashley,  and William. Further survived by great-grandchildren, great-great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends.

Barbara and Jim met as teenagers. When Jim started giving Barbara rides to school, it was the beginning of a lifetime of love that endured through struggles and good times for over 71 years.

Barbara was devoted to her family. During lean times, she would always find a way to make do with what they could afford – always making sure to have a good meal on the table for Jim and the kids. Jim summed up his wife with six words: “She was the best woman ever.”

Visitation will be held at Heritage Funeral Home, 9200 S. 27th Street on Friday, September 19, 2025 from 10:30am until the time of Funeral Service at 12:00 Noon. Interment to follow at Forest Hill Memorial Park.
