Of Caledonia, 79 was welcomed into Paradise as promised by her Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, on September 4, 2017 at her home.

Barb was born in Milwaukee on August 31, 1938 to the late Leslie and Mildred (nee: Kasten) Baker. She lived in Racine County since 1950. On August 1, 1959, in Trinity Caledonia Evangelical Lutheran Church, she was united in marriage to Albert Lee Conkle.

Barb was a Graduate of Washington Park High School and was a typist/stenographer at the Wisconsin Natural Gas Company for five years. Barb was a devoted and proud member of First Evangelical Lutheran Church, where she was involved with the Miriam Mission Circle, Ladies Aid, Girl Pioneers, and the Wise Penny Resale Shoppe. Barb was the cook/food manager at Wisconsin Lutheran Middle School for thirteen years and then served as the school secretary for ten years. In her leisure, Barb enjoyed playing Sheepshead, cross-stitching, camping, gardening, bird and squirrel watching, and reading. Above all, her God and her family meant the world to her and always made them priority one. She will be lovingly remembered and dearly missed!

Surviving are her loving husband of 58 years, Lee; three daughters, Debra (Henry) Agallar of Racine, Donna (Scott) Freimark of Holly, MI, and Betty Jean Conkle of Adrian, MI; grandchildren Eric (Kristi) Gatzke of Jefferson, IN, Johnathan Agallar of Lillington, NC, Matthew (Rachel) Freimark, of Ft Wayne, IN, Rhonda (Dave) Thomason, of Holly, MI, Daniel Lee (Alyse) Steinke, of Adrian MI, Carolynn Steinke of Grants, NM, Kristen (Nathan) Blaker of Adrian, MI; great-grandchildren; Jordyn, Noah, Andrew, Rebekah, and Hannah Gatzke; Lily and Isabella Freimark; Joshua and Jordan Thomason; Payton and Raelynn Steinke; Mallory and Aubrey Blaker; brothers; James (Suzi) Baker of Milwaukee and Russell (Alexis “Bunny”) Zengle of Caledonia; and many special nieces, nephews, cousins, relatives, and friends, including her church family. In addition to her parents Barb was proceeded in death by her brothers-in-law Thomas Conkle and Grover Conkle as well as sister-in-law Helen Wood.

According to her wishes, Barb will be cremated. A memorial service will be held at First Evangelical Lutheran Church, 728 Villa Street on September 16, 2017 at 2 P.M. with Rev. John Roekle officiating. Private inurnment will be held at Forest Hill Cemetery in Oak Creek. Relatives and friends may meet with the family at the church on September 16 from 12:00 P.M. until time of services. Memorials to the First Evangelical Church have been suggested.
