Arthur Robert Maze, 92, born July 8, 1932, to the late Aurelius H. and Mary (Nalezny) Maze. He was called to heaven on May 31, 2025.
Survived by his loving bride, June (Moxon), and his five wonderful children James (Vickie), Robert (Cindy), William, Stephen (Kristina) and Megan. His sister, Roseanne (Tom) Crawford, sister-in-law Irene Maze, and dear friend, Lynda Maze. Many cherished grandchildren and great grandchildren, special nieces, nephews, grand nieces and nephews, great grand nephews and nieces.
Preceded in death by his daughter-in-law, Dawn Maze, God daughter Susan Jefferies, two brothers, three sisters and other loved ones.
Born in Winona, Minn, along the Mississippi River, and spending many of his childhood years in Chicago with his Godparents adjacent to Lake Michigan, he developed a love for rivers and lakes.
He was a proud military veteran, serving in the Army during the Korean War as a chauffeur at the Pentagon.
Arthur was a sweet man with a good heart. He enjoyed being around friends and family and travelling to his hometown, Winona, or the Wisconsin Northwoods, with his family. He was a staple at reunions associated with Cotter High School, Winona State University and St. Mary’s College.
After college, Arthur made his way to Milwaukee, yet another city next to the water, to teach science in Milwaukee Public Schools. He helped shape many young minds during his 30 years at Audubon Middle School, made lifelong friends, and most importantly, he met his bride of nearly 64 years, June (Moxon), who was the new teacher in the building.
As a father to four boys and one girl, he loved attending all the scouting, sporting events and concerts, and even travelled out of state to attend college track and cross country meets. He always wore the appropriate team hat to show his support. He was a huge fan of the Green Bay Packers, Milwaukee Brewers, Marquette basketball and Wisconsin football.
During retirement, he loved spending time at South Shore Yacht Club, American Legion Cudworth Post and traveling with his sisters, Elaine and Julie, for family bonding trips, and travelling to visit his children and grandchildren whenever possible.
The family would like to thank Paula and Shawanna from Assist at Home, Aurora At Home Hospice team, Milwaukee Fire Dept. first responders from Station 7, and his entire team of Aurora Healthcare medical professionals, especially Dr. Ganne, his favorite.
In lieu of flowers, please consider a donation to Pius XI Catholic High School or St. Thomas More High School.
Visitation will be held on Wednesday, June 18, 2025, from 10 a.m. to 11:30 a.m. followed by a mass at 11:30 a.m. at St. Veronica Church, 353 E. Norwich St., Milwaukee, WI 53207.

What a wonderful man. God bless you and your family Megan.
Uncle Art was the kindest and most loving man. I love being able to hear his memories of Winona while I attended WSU and I feel so lucky to share that with him. He is already sorely missed. Love to you all during this time.
Dear Sweet Uncle Art. Always smiling, his joy of life was contagious to everyone around him.. I was so privileged to learn about Mid-west family love from our trips to Milwaukee and 702 Main Street.
Rest in Peace? I don’t think so… He’ll be up there making cocktails and being the giving soul he was here on earth. Thank you Uncle Art and Aunt June..
June and family, we wanted to let you know what a wonderful friend and neighbor Art was to us. We always enjoyed seeing him at track meets too. Sending our love to you all. Dave and Mary Sternig
June and family, we are so sorry for your loss and will miss seeing Art looking out the window. Such great neighbors all these years, sending hugs and prayers to you all.
Dear June,
