Dear Stacy and Mo,
You have been in my thoughts today – as for the past several weeks. And actually, as for the past several months. It was such a joy to see you this past summer. I am so sorry that we didn’t stay closer for these past years, but I have followed you and Andrew through Karim and my girls – praying and crying with each health struggle Andrew encountered – and conquered.

On the Milwaukee visit last summer, I was so amazed at how tall Andrew was. With his health struggles, I guess I expected him to be small and frail, but he was so tall and strong and he emanated that strength and warmth. And I remember when someone mentioned that he visited his grandma every day and spoke Kurdish with her – that touched my heart so much.

I can’t imagine what you are feeling tonight, but so many people are praying for you and holding you in their hearts. The love and strength you gave to Andrew and he gave back to you has not passed. It will come back to you again and again.

Love and peace… Donna

I had the distinct honor and pleasure of working with this family at Children’s Hospital of Wisconsin. My thoughts and prayers are with you all. He was a kind and intelligent young man and I remember his love for meteorology!!
