Dear Rynders Family: I learned of Al’s passing with deep sorrow. He and Evelyn were close friends of our family for many years. I was in close contact with him, through my Dad (Casey), from my earliest teens. Even though he was 20 years older than I he always treated me as an equal. During my High School years we spent a lot of time together small game hunting and then deer hunting with Bow and Arrow at the Necedah Wildlife Refuge and Horicon Marsh. Many fun filled hours were spent fishing on the Rock, Crawfish, and Wolf Rivers. Then there were the adventures at the Clement’s deer camp near Superior, WI.; the card games and kidding my Dad, Harvey Schoenenman, John Arntz and Bob Clement. After College we remained in contact as I visited Al and Evelyn almost yearly during the later years. I think the last time I spoke with Al was at Evelyn’s passing. Rita kept me up to date with her yearly Christmas letter. Al was a great friend and a fine conversationalist. He is the last of my “old gang” and I cherish the good times we had together. May God bless him and your family.

I’m not sure if this message will get to any family members but it is worth a shot. My father recently acquired a box of old things through auction and there were some postcards and photos inside that I believe belonged to Mr. Rynders, and two penants as well. The postcards were addressed to him by an Evelyn/Evie in 1945. I would love to get them to you if it is possible. Please contact me if any of you are able and interested in receiving these, I would be more than happy to mail them. My email address is
