Lathrop, Alfred “Ike”
Passed away on Saturday, October 19, 2019, age 87 years. Loving husband of Ilana Lathrop for over 60 years. Dear father of Robert Lathrop, Sharon (Matthew) Page, and Chris (Christina) Lathrop. Grandfather of Nathan, Robert A., Felicia, Andrew, Brianna, Erica, and Rachael. Brother of John Lathrop. Also survived by great grandchildren, nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
A visitation will be held Thursday from 10-12PM at the Funeral Home, 16880 W. National Ave. A Masonic Service will follow at 12PM.
Ike was a longtime member of the Palmyra(#68) and Hurley(#237) Masonic Lodges. He was also a veteran of the Korean War and a member of the American Legion. After many years, he retired from BFI and won numerous truck driver rodeos. Following in the footsteps of his father, Ike was proud to have become a pilot later in life. Alfred also was a very proactive member of the Methodist church and made many people smile being Santa Claus and using clowning to teach scriptures in to people’s hearts.
