‘TEAM ALEX’

So many memories for our family. “The Chileda Classic Run” in La Crosse, Wisconsin is run every year the first weekend in July. Alex entered Chileda at the age of eight in 1998. Chileda is a home for children with developmental disabilities. Chileda was to become his home until the age of 18.

Every year our family went to LaCrosse for the weekend and joined in the race as ‘TEAM ALEX’ (named by his father Robb). Robb, Rick and Lisa and their families plus Jaye and her family. It ws quite a unifying time for all of us. The kids loved it as did Alex being pushed in his jogger, even the family dogs joined in. It was a fund raiser for the Children of Chileda and was so well supported by the community. Our family was so forturnate to have so many of our family and friends support us every year that our Team Alex won best fund getter for many of the years that we participated. Alex loved the attention and breakfast in the park afterward and swimming in the hotel pool and hanging out together was special for all of us and our hilight of the year.

In honor of Alex, Rick went up to La Crosse on July 1st and ran in the race seven days after Alex was welcomed by our heavenly Father.

Alex’s impact on the world comes with little words to suffice. He had a smile that lit up a room and a gentle kindness that soaked up your soul. We feel so grateful for the blessings he shared. Now he’s our forever angel brightly shining in the heavens above. I will forever miss you Alex and your soft hands to hold and comfort me. You have no idea how much you changed me as I watched you grow up. Love you to the moon and back. ❤️Aunt Lisa
