I am so sorry to hear they are both gone. Hail and farewell, Adeline and Nathalie! I’m not sure how my mom found them, when we got our first GSD from them, Herby, in about 1976, then we got all our GSD’s from them right up until the last one I got …. from connections with them anyway, from the Browns. in 2010, we got my darling Skipper, who passed in 2022. A most wonderful handsome classic black and tan. My mom & I used to bring our GSD’s, Vita and Frisco, up to the Mother’s Day shows at the WI GSD club, and greatly enjoyed the days. My mom was also a lifelong fierce lover of GSD’s, she had 50 years worth of receiving the GSD Review magazine, and closely following breeding lines. We all shared the love of the GSD breed, and they were just wonderful people, and bred wonderful dogs. I remember their house was filled with dog beds. They had a wonderful set up at Pek-In kennels. I hope they are all in the SummerLand filled with fields of sunny nature, and filled with couches covered with all the GSD’s they ever loved. Hail and farewell, Adeline and Nathalie! I am raising a glass in their honor. May their memory be a blessing.
Many years ago I got my first GSD from Sher-low’s Shepherds. I had always loved GSDs. As a little girl I told my mother that I was going to have one someday. My first was a 6 month old male named Ruger. Adeline let me have him with the stipulation that I show him in confirmation. Since I didn’t know a thing about what to do in the ring, Adeline had me come to their house to learn showing. Turned out that Ruger had the looks, but little fire in the ring. He just didn’t like it. Adeline told me after a few months that he wasn’t going to do much in conformation so we stopped. Then Adeline told me about the GSD club, and I was hooked. Ruger was a beauty, a wonderful pet and friend, and so gentle with my little boy, David. Unfortunately my ex-husband, a Milwaukee police officer, came home one night and told me he’d found a different woman, and wanted a divorce. I had a very bad lawyer, and he got the house and primary custody of my David. Well, he worked so much that he said he couldn’t keep Ruger . I ended up declaring bankruptcy and had to live in a horrible studio apartment on 3014 W. Pierce St. and the rule was no pets. So.. . the sign of a reputable breeder; Adeline went to the house and took Ruger back Sime years later I remarried, and went to Adeline and bought another Shepherd and named her Ellie Mae . I had 4 Shepherds from Adeline. So sorry to know they are both gone. They were outstanding breeders of the GSD. Beautifu, excellent personalities, protective but not aggressive Godspeed to you, Adeline and Nathalie. You made a difference in my life by having Ruger, and introducing me to the GSD Dog Club in Brookfield !
