Kathie Nutter (nee Voaden)

Born August 8, 1954 in Paisley Scotland to Betty Gillan, and Edward Dzik who both preceded her in death. Brought to the US at 6 weeks old, she grew up in Chicago, & later moved to WI. Kathie attended Greenfield high school, where she met her lifelong sweetheart Richard. Kathie and Richard tied the knot in 1972, & were married for 49 wonderful years. Kathie has 2 children, and one grandchild.

Kathie loved hosting big family holiday gatherings when her kids were young. Kathie’s stuffing at thanksgiving was famous. On holidays she would play video games with her kids. Zelda, Super Mario Brothers, Sonic the hedgehog; Her kids learned what an incredible mother they had and how much fun she was. These memories highlight her warmth, kind spirit, & fun-loving nature. She played with her kids, grandkids, and all the nieces, nephews, and her only sibling Michael, over the years.

Kathie also loved traveling on holidays to Virginia. Getting away from the cold, & going out on the boat with her mother/step-father to enjoy the ocean was one of her favorite activities. Walking, and caring for the Scottish terriers her mother bred. Laughing at the cat, who followed closely on those walks, not wanting to be left out.

Kathie loved The Beatles, animals, reading, daily walks, late nights watching movies with her kids. Long chats with her husband Richard, sitting at the kitchen table, drinking coffee. She taught her children to live by the golden rules; Honesty, Integrity, & fair play. Kathie always said: “If you’re going to cheat, cheat fair.”

Kathie worked in the automotive industry as a rental manager and service advisor. She retired in August 2019, and enjoyed every minute of her new life; no early mornings, no long commute, or having to rush out of the house each day. She spoke of retirement fondly, and enjoyed it very much.

We will miss Kathie’s huge heart, warm smile, and kind eyes. You’ll always be in our hearts.

A time for family and friends to celebrate Kathie’s life is being planned for Spring/Summer of 2022

You were once like a sister to me when I was growing up. I will always remember the days spent chatting at your kitchen table and talking about everything under the sun. You were my bridesmaid, sister, and friend, and will always be remembered with fondness and love.
