First time I met Joe was back in 1973 when I was an exchange student at Shorewood High School living with the Wettengel family. Joe became a close and dear friend often visiting the Wettengel residence were we hung out in the basement together with Phil, Anne and Steve Wettengel and many Shorewood friends. We did a lot of fun things together; like going up to Little Switzerland skiing, “bar hopping” to Whimpy´s, the Safe House and other places. Joe was always very caring and kind. Fun to be with.
Unfortunately we lost contact when I went back to Sweden in June 1974. A few years ago I had the opportunity to talk to Joe on the phone during a visit to the Wettengel family. It was like no time had passed when we talked about old memories. I´m so glad we had that chat. After that we became friends on FB.
I will miss Joe and remember him as one of my closest friends who made my exchange year full of joy and nice memories.
