Katie was my longest and best friend. We were cousins, but much more than that. My first concert was with Katie, John, Aunt Dore and Aunt Jule. It was 1988. It was the Bangles. It was awesome. I feel lucky to have had the same best friend 26 years later to see the Bangles on their reunion tour. We drank wine. We sang “Eternal Flame” passionately and poorly. Katie was fun and funny. She was kind and generous. She was smart and principled. I love her and I miss her.
