Chris was my only sibling, my big sister. We shared a bedroom until I was 16. Needless to say, no one knew me quite as well as Chris.
I have so many vivid early childhood memories of us together. She was my protector, as well as my teacher. There are so many things that might seem trivial, but truly helped me through the trials of childhood. Like how to match my clothing. Brush my teeth. Roller skate. Tease my hair. Put on makeup. Dance. What was cool, what was not. She gave me books to read, taught me how to write poetry, how to draw. Shaped what would be my politics for life. And passed on her unique sense of humor, as well as a love for music of many styles and from many eras.
Like most sisters, we had our disagreements, our differences. But ultimately, we shared a deep bond.
You are deeply missed, Christy.
