TOWN OF RAYMOND. John Reichel, 83, passed away at St. Mary’s Medical Center in Racine on Wednesday, July 23, 2003. A lifetime resident, he was born in Racine on November 12, 1919, to Frank and Mary Nee Herda Reichel. On June 2, 1945, in England, he was united in marriage to Daphne Coleman, who preceded him in death on June 7, 1984. He served in Work War II in England, where he met his future wife. He had been employeed at Case for 30-plus years. John dedicated his life to his special son Jeff. He loved his family, his farm, and the Chicago Cubs. In John’s younger days, his hobbies included dartball and softball. Surviving are daughters, Kathy Gary Rochau of Albuquerque, N.M., and Karen Rob Ludwig of Racine; and sons, John Terri Reichel of Sturtevant, Steve Sharon Reichel of Franksville, and Jeff Reichel of Rochester. Special friend of KathyDennis Guth. Brother of the late Helen the late William Deinken, the late Mary the late Clem Maresh, Irene the late Elmer Hellesen, Viola the late Carl Hellesen, Eleanor Clarence White, the late Steve Reichel, the late Frank Reichel Jr., the late Sonny Reichel, Edward Sylvia Reichel, and Valeria the late Charles Weiss. Loving grandfather of Julie Tom Robinson, Greg Ellen Rochau, and David Rochau, Stafanie, Stacy, and Melanie Ludwig, John, Ron, Tarin, Steve, Tom, and Nick Reichel. Brother-in-law of Reg Elizabeth Colemen and David the late Brenda Dawes. Further survived by many nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. Preceded in death by his Wife Daphne Nee Coleman; his parents, Frank and Marie Nee Herda; his mother -in-law, Florence “Granny Liz” Coleman. Funeral servies Sunday evening, July 27, 2003, 6 PM at the funeral home chapel. The Rev. Donald Johnson officiating. Interment Westlawn Memorial Park Cemetery. In state, Sunday from 3 PM until the time of service 6 PM.
